Leonel received his Master of Art in the Integrated Recovery of Co-Occurring Disorders from Hazelden Betty Ford and is a licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC) and is working towards being a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC). Leonel has worked in a variety of community-based mental health treatment facilities such as in assisted-living, residential, and crisis settings. In his current role, Leonel provides treatment groups to individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders, provides individual therapy to individuals with co-occurring disorders, completing assessments in line with Rule 245G, and provides psychoeducational courses such as MADD Panel and Driving with Care. Leonel focuses his direct clinical work on supporting adults with addiction and will soon provide direct clinical services to adolescents with co-occurring disorders as well as supporting their families. Leonel is passionate about supporting individuals and families to overcome their struggles with addiction and empowering them to develop a healthier lifestyle.
