Mica Cavuoto began her professional development in Mexico, where she obtained a Degree in Psychology and became a Licensed Psychologist. She then continued her professional development and obtained a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling with dual concentration in eating disorders and Substance Abuse, from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Mica is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and is also a board-approved supervisor by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy. She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board of Certified Counselors.
In her practice, Mica uses and combines therapeutic modalities and culturally affirming mental health services to accommodate and help her clients thrive. She has been trained in EMDR, TFCBT and most recently, Child- Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), but also incorporates elements from other modalities, to meet clients where they are in their journey towards healing. Mica is passionate about helping the Latino community thrive, and bring awareness to generational trauma, while weaving culture and healing and respect in the therapeutic process.
Mica currently manages the Outpatient Mental Health and Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports Programs (CTSS) at CLUES. In her position, Mica also offers psychotherapy to individuals- children and adults- and families and offers clinical supervision to independently licensed clinicians.
