SUMMARY:Early childhood education and the challenges of bilingual education | CLUES Facebook Live
DESCRIPTION:Join us next Thursday\, June 10 at 6 p.m. for a live talk in Spanish about the importance of early childhood education. High quality early learning experiences help children prepare to learn and succeed in and out of school. On this occasion we will be joined by early education experts from the team at AFA\, a Spanish immersion early learning academy in Minnesota.\n***\nEarly childhood education is more important than ever\, especially as we help young children in their developmental stages as young learners. Children who learn a second language and become bilingual are able to read in two languages and often make deeper connections with other friends\, improve their working memory and problem solving by enhancing their critical thinking skills. In addition\, children who are immersed in a second language more quickly gain the ability to multi-task and become creative and flexible thinkers = all critical elements for school readiness and academic success. Immersion programs favor the bilingual brain and help foster empathy and acceptance of others. Being able to read and converse in a second language increases a student's social and emotional well-being and gives them unique confidence in their place in the world. The research is clear on academics\, but in addition\, giving your child the opportunity to be bilingual will give your toddler\, preschool\, or school-age child the advantage that will benefit him or her by opening up a new and richer world. \n*Program in Spanish \nClick here to join the event.
