El 16 de septiembre m\u00e1s de 5,000 personas se reunieron para celebrar la cultura latina por el Mes de la Herencia Hispana en la Fiesta Latina de CLUES. El evento fue presentado por CLUES, Best Buy, M Health Fairview y General Mills con el apoyo de una gran variedad de colaboradores y m\u00e1s de 120 vendedores.<\/p>

Desde muy temprano, muchas personas estaban rondando por los alrededores esperando que el evento comenzara. Gracias a Metro Transit, muchos pudieron asistir al evento utilizando el transporte p\u00fablico de forma gratuita. Al medio d\u00eda, la gran Fiesta Latina inicio con m\u00fasica en vivo y mucha alegr\u00eda. Durante el evento, tuvimos presentaciones de bailes latinos tradicionales con Baila Venezuela y Rene Thompson;, lectura del cuento para ni\u00f1os (Daniela y Mateo) y m\u00fasica en vivo con Boriken Cultural Center y Chico Ch\u00e1vez Orchestra. Cada actuaci\u00f3n fue recibida con aplausos y muchos de los asistentes se unieron a los bailes.<\/span><\/p>

Varios artistas latinos locales llevaron a cabo talleres en vivo donde los asistentes pudieron aprender desde crear una escultura con jab\u00f3n Zote con Cadex Herrera; hacer su propio mosaico con Constanza Carballo; imprimir una bella litograf\u00eda creada por la artista Lynda Grafito; crear collage en bit\u00e1coras junto a Le\u00f3n Currie; pintar y dibujar sobre la flora y fauna con Sonia Pereira; los m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os pudieron pintar sus rostros gracias a la artista Maria Linsday; y la reconocida artista Kandace Creel-Falc\u00f3n estuvo conversando con los asistentes sobre su nueva exposici\u00f3n en solitario \u201cCaminos de Inmigrantes\u201d expuesta en la Galer\u00eda de Arte Latino de CLUES.<\/span><\/p>

Para aquellos que no conoc\u00edan del trabajo que CLUES hace en la comunidad, varios de nuestros empleados tuvieron la oportunidad de estar en el escenario present\u00e1ndolos programas de CLUES como: Artes y Promoci\u00f3n de la Cultura Latina, Salud Comunitaria, Empoderamiento Econ\u00f3mico, Peque\u00f1os Negocios, Salud Conductual, Programas para J\u00f3venes y Entrenamiento de Empleo. Cada uno de estos programas contaron con una mesa donde personas interesadas pudieron hacer sus preguntas y recibir en m\u00e1s detalle informaci\u00f3n sobre nuestros servicios. Adem\u00e1s, fue un gran \u00e9xito el servicio de Canasta Familiar, donde m\u00e1s de 300 familias pudieron recibir alimentos saludables completamente gratis. Tambi\u00e9n gracias a la generosidad de United Way y Medica se repartieron 900 mochilas llenas de \u00fatiles escolares. Otras organizaciones comunitarias y vendedores estuvieron ofreciendo los recursos a la comunidad asistente.<\/span><\/p>

Adem\u00e1s, este a\u00f1o como novedad los asistentes pudieron adquirir las camisetas de Fiesta Latina. Se trata de una edici\u00f3n limitada creada por la artista Lynda Grafito e impresas de forma manual en CLUES. A\u00fan tenemos algunas disponibles, las ventas de las camisetas ayudar\u00e1n a sostener los programas que se llevan a cabo en CLUES. En varias oportunidades, empleados de CLUES fueron sorprendidos por la cantidad de personas que se acercaron agradeciendo por el evento. Frases como: \u201cGracias por todo el apoyo que brindan a la comunidad\"; \"mi familia y yo siempre venimos cada a\u00f1o a disfrutar de este evento que celebra nuestra cultura latina\u201d; \u201cgracias por representar a la cultura Latina y nuestras tradiciones\u201d y \u201cIncre\u00edble evento para iniciar la celebraci\u00f3n del mes de la Herencia Hispana.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Gracias de nuevo a cada uno de los que asistieron, patrocinaron o fueron voluntarios en Fiesta Latina 2023 por su apoyo y por hacer la fiesta un evento tan fant\u00e1stico. No podr\u00edamos haberlo hecho sin ustedes y esperamos volver a verlos el a\u00f1o que viene.<\/span><\/p>
