Nos sentimos honrados de que Megan se uniera a nosotros para compartir  su historia como superviviente e inicio despu\u00e9s de una relaci\u00f3n abusiva.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Estamos muy emocionados de compartir la historia de Megan  y esperamos que les inspire por su fuerza y esp\u00edritu esperanzador como lo ha hecho con nosotros. Un agradecimiento muy especial a Megan por tener el valor de compartir su experiencia para ayudar a otros que est\u00e1n atravesando una situaci\u00f3n similar a la que ella vivi\u00f3 para obtener la ayuda que necesitan.<\/p>\n<p>\"Comenz\u00f3 como cualquier relaci\u00f3n normal y saludable. \u00c9l pag\u00f3 por nuestra primera cita, era extremadamente guapo y le encantaba hablar tanto como a m\u00ed\", dijo Megan. \"Parec\u00eda que pod\u00edamos hacer cualquier cosa juntos y divertirnos. No hace falta decir que nos llevamos muy bien y nos volvimos inseparables muy r\u00e1pido\".<\/p>\n<p>Nunca imagin\u00f3 que este sentimiento de luna de miel se convertir\u00eda en una pesadilla. \"Estuve en una relaci\u00f3n con un hombre f\u00edsica, emocional y sexualmente abusivo durante dos a\u00f1os. Me ahogaron, me golpearon, me tiraron contra las paredes, me asaltaron sexualmente y me hicieron sentir completamente in\u00fatil. El maltrato era terrible, pero mi aprendida habilidad para perdonar super\u00f3 todos mis sentimientos instintivos. Pero sus abusos aumentaron  y empeoraron con el paso del tiempo\".<\/p>\n<p><strong>Los datos reflejan:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 de cada 3 mujeres y 1 de cada 4 hombres en los Estados Unidos han experimentado alguna forma de violencia f\u00edsica por parte de una pareja \u00edntima.<\/li>\n<li>La violencia en la pareja \u00edntima representa el 15% de todos los delitos violentos.<\/li>\n<li>La presencia de un arma en el hogar durante un incidente de violencia dom\u00e9stica aumenta el riesgo de homicidio en al menos un 500%.<\/li>\n<li>El 72% de todos los asesinatos-suicidios involucran a una pareja \u00edntima; el 94% de las v\u00edctimas de estos cr\u00edmenes son mujeres.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\"\u00c9l me lesion\u00f3 gravemente varias veces y esas lesiones graves fueron lo que finalmente me hizo tomar la decisi\u00f3n de acabar con la relaci\u00f3n. Cuando entend\u00ed que pod\u00eda hacerme tanto da\u00f1o, supe que, sin lugar a dudas, terminar\u00eda mat\u00e1ndome si me quedaba\", explic\u00f3 Megan. \"Al final, creo que lo que deton\u00f3 a finalizar la relaci\u00f3n permanentemente es porque mi vida estaba amenazada.\"<\/p>\n<p>\"Tengo un claro mensaje para cualquier persona que est\u00e1 atravesando por una experiencia de abuso: \u00a1Busquen ayuda!,\" coment\u00f3 Megan. Los datos reflejan que en un d\u00eda t\u00edpico, las l\u00edneas directas de violencia dom\u00e9stica reciben un total de aproximadamente 21.000 llamadas, 15 llamadas por minuto.<\/p>\n<p><strong>El miedo nunca debe ser parte de una relaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\"Ten\u00eda miedo de que me lastimara a m\u00ed o a s\u00ed mismo, de hablar, de llamar a un amigo o a mi familia, de decirle \"no\" a tener sexo. Encontrar a alguien con quien hablar es de vital importancia. Recuerda: No est\u00e1s solo(a).\"<\/p>\n<p>\"Cada vez que hablo de mi experiencia, estoy m\u00e1s que agradecida de haber salido viva de esta situaci\u00f3n y de haber tenido el sistema de apoyo que me ha permitido no volver al abuso, algo que no todas las sobrevivientes tienen. Al compartir mi historia con otros, espero ayudar a la gente a ser m\u00e1s consciente de lo que es la violencia dom\u00e9stica para una v\u00edctima, pero tambi\u00e9n para dar apoyo e inspiraci\u00f3n a aquellos que viven en una situaci\u00f3n de abuso y violencia\".<\/p>\n<p>\u00a1Gracias, Megan por hablar abiertamente de tu experiencia.
