SUMMARY:Biden's new immigration policy | CLUES Facebook Live
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Tuesday\, April 13 for a live\, Spanish-language chat with VLN attorney Colleen Beebe Purisaca to discuss the new immigration policy of the new Biden administration. \nOn January 20\, 2020\, Joe Biden assumed the presidency of the United States. His new administration has since announced the plan they would like to implement on the immigration issue. President Biden has already signed some orders to initiate certain changes and has proposed changes to the laws. The process of changing immigration laws can be a long and complicated process. The presentation will discuss the orders that have already been signed and their effect; the proposed law changes that are NOT law yet; and what we can do now as a community to move forward to make a positive change in the U.S. immigration system. \nQuestions will be answered such as:\n- What is happening with the new U.S. government on immigration?\n- Are there changes in immigration rules or laws?\n- Why is the president signing executive orders\, what are they\, and what are they about?\n- Can I apply for anything now?\n- Is there going to be a new amnesty?\n- Can people still be deported?\n- What is going to happen to people who have DACA?\n- What should we do?\n- What are some reliable sources of information?\n- Who can I talk to about my legal case? \nSPEAKER \nColleen Beebe Purisaca\, immigration attorney (working for the Volunteer Lawyers Network ("VLN"). The VLN is a non-profit organization that provides free civil legal services to low-income Minnesotans. \nJoin the event here. \nNote: The attorney will answer general questions and not specific issues. Please note that this event will be recorded and replayed on our Facebook channel. Please do not share personal information
