Maria Rios has over 15 years of experience in human services, with a heart and passion for working alongside the Latino community. Her work is deeply rooted in providing culturally affirming, trauma-informed, and holistic mental health care that honors the unique strengths, identities, and lived experiences of those she serves.
She earned her Master of Social Work through the joint program at St. Catherine University and the University of St. Thomas and is a licensed clinical social worker and board-approved supervisor. Maria brings a rich background across various settings, including school-based mental health, hospital systems, and student mentoring and support.
Maria currently serves as the Mental Health Skills Programs Supervisor at CLUES, where she offers clinical supervision reflective of her commitment to empowerment, cultural identity, and social justice. Her supervisory and therapeutic work centers on meeting people where they are and honoring their unique experiences, stories, and strengths. With a strong foundation in attachment, family systems, and strength-based practice, Maria brings warmth, authenticity, and a relational approach to all her work.
As an immigrant and bicultural clinician, Maria’s lens is shaped by her own lived experiences and those of the community she serves. She understands the complexities of navigating multiple identities and the impact of generational trauma and supports others in connecting with their inner power and resilience to show up fully and authentically.
Her work is grounded in cultural humility, person-centered care, and the belief that healing and transformation happen in strong, supportive relationships.
Whether working with children, families, or professionals, Maria aims to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and uplifted — and where their culture, voice, and journey are honored every step of the way.
