On September 10, over 3,500 people joined us to celebrate Latino heritage and culture at CLUES Fiesta Latina. The free, family-friendly community festival was presented by CLUES, General Mills, and Minnesota Health Fairview with the support of other incredible sponsors like BlueCross BlueShield Minnesota, children’s Minnesota, Comcast, Health Partners, Hiway. Medica, Mississippi Market, UCARE, USBank, Sherwin Williams, Mall of America, and Metropolitan Council as well as other media partners. Big thanks once again to all our sponsors and partners for helping us to make this event a success!

The event was full of activities for everyone focused on Arts, Culture, and Health & Wellness. Also, there were valuable resources, authentic Latino food, music, dance, and entertainment for everyone to enjoy. The public enjoyed the live performances by Los Alegres Bailadores, Grupo de Danzas Colombianas y Expresión Tropical, and played soccer with MN United FC. They were able to bring some healthy food home with them thanks to Canasta Familiar and General Mills and learned how to cook Cuban picadillo in our live cooking classes. Free Covid-19 vaccines were available by M Health Fairview and Blue Cross Blue Shield offered free pediatric check-ups. Families were able to get a free backpack full of school supplies and participated in our raffles to win bikes, MN Twins, and Vikings tickets, among other exciting prizes. In addition, visitors were able to learn about local resources for housing and employment assistance and government healthcare programs. One of the most interesting activities for the public was the inauguration of the mural “La Cultura Cura” by the local Latino artist Cadex Herrera. The mural, 15 feet wide by 25 feet high, honors Latino culture and heritage. Through this project CLUES and the Artist want to ensure that all Latinos entering our St. Paul building would feel identified and represented.
