CLUES is celebrating its 40th anniversary and the richness and diversity of Latino culture and arts by hosting its fifth annual FIESTA LATINA. This free outdoor event will take place on Saturday, September 18 from 12- 4 pm at CLUES’ Headquarters, located at 797 East 7th St. or “Calle Siete” in Saint Paul.
CLUES, the largest Latino-led nonprofit in Minnesota, is excited to offer the community this cultural celebration. FIESTA LATINA is supported generously by Best Buy, General Mills, and other sponsors and by in-kind and media partners. The event will be filled with valuable resources, authentic Latino food, music, dance, entertainment and family-friendly activities focused on Arts, Culture and Health & Wellbeing. During the event, there will also be the opportunity for attendees to visit the new CLUES art exhibition and enjoy a mural tour. Our new exhibit, "Muralismo Minnesotano", will highlight the work CLUES artists have undertaken over the past three years.
“Through this exhibit, CLUES will present the work of master muralists, apprentices, and community participants, who have come together to build upon the long tradition of Latino muralism and who have created beautiful, meaningful, and culturally-specific works of public art for our community,” said Aaron Johnson-Ortiz, Latino Arts and Cultural Engagement Director at CLUES.
More than 1,500 people are expected to join the festival celebrating Minnesota's diverse Latino culture. Families can also receive Covid-19 vaccines, create art projects, and participate in other activities. Raffles and giveaways will be available throughout the event with exciting prizes including bikes, Twins tickets, free kid’s backpacks filled with school supplies, food baskets for families, and more. In addition, this year we will have an area dedicated to Latino "Microbusinesses."
Come meet small business owners of our own community and learn how CLUES can help you start your own business.
“As CLUES celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, we invite our friends and community to celebrate with us at Fiesta Latina. Fiesta Latina 2021 will celebrate Latino arts, culture, and heritage. We will also encourage precautions against COVID-19 such as social distancing and wearing masks. Masks will be available for attendees that may not have their own,” said Ruby Lee, CLUES President and CEO.
We invite you to see some photos of Fiesta Latina 2019 and the murals that you can visit during the event this year. See you there!
