Dr. José Bernard is Vice President of Medical Affairs at United Hospital, part of Allina Health, where he provides physician leadership focused on advancing clinical excellence, quality, and patient-centered care. A board-certified family medicine physician and hospitalist, Dr. Bernard brings extensive experience in both direct patient care and healthcare leadership.

Throughout his career, Dr. Bernard has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving health outcomes and strengthening the quality of care for patients and communities. His clinical interests include infection prevention, diabetes, and obesity, bringing valuable perspective on the complex health needs affecting individuals and families.

Dr. Bernard completed his medical education at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and his residency through the University of Minnesota/St. Joseph’s Hospital Program.

As a member of the CLUES Board of Directors, Dr. Bernard brings his healthcare expertise, physician leadership, and commitment to improving community health to support CLUES’ mission of advancing social and economic equity and wellbeing for Latino families and communities.
