Michael Scafford is a seasoned retail leader with 18 years of experience at Target Corporation, where he has held leadership roles across Properties, Stores, Procurement, Operations, and Merchandising. Throughout his career, Michael has built a reputation for fostering cross-functional collaboration, solving complex business challenges, and delivering results across multiple areas of the organization.

Before joining Target, Michael served as a high school math teacher through Teach For America in rural North Carolina. That experience shaped his deep appreciation for servant leadership, continuous learning, and creating opportunities for others to succeed.

Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and his MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Outside of work, Michael and his wife are raising five children and proudly call Lakeville, Minnesota, home. He enjoys spending time with his family, mentoring others, and bringing a people-first approach to both leadership and life.

As a member of the CLUES Board of Directors, Michael brings his extensive business leadership experience, collaborative approach, and commitment to creating opportunities for others to support CLUES’ mission of advancing social and economic equity and wellbeing for Latino families and communities.
