René received his Associate of Science in Medical Office Assisting from Minneapolis College. René started at CLUES in December 2008 as a Service Response Specialist, where he helped the Latine community with referrals to gain access to resources and services that were critical to their overall wellbeing. His next role at CLUES was as a Third-Party Billing Coordinator where he managed and monitored the collection of client payments and all aspects of the Third-Party billing revenue cycle.

In his current role as the Senior Behavior Health Compliance Manager, René optimizes the grants billing for Behavioral Health, builds essential relationships with external grant managers, advocates for significant funding increases for our programming, leads grants and programming compliance efforts in Behavioral Health, leads quality assurance improvements in Behavioral Health, collaborates closely with the Accounting department to ensure smooth month-end procedures, and leads efforts to improve efficiencies in our Third-Party Billing and Electronic Health Record processes. René supervises our Electronic Health Record Administrator, our Quality Assurance Specialist, and our Behavioral Health Billing Specialist. He plays a central role in improving efficiencies in billing and accounting, within the electronic health records, and in compliance and quality assurance efforts as the Behavioral Health department becomes certified as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).

René understands the importance that CLUES has within the Latine community and that is the reason why he started with CLUES in December 2008 and returned to CLUES as the Senior Behavioral Health Compliance Manager. His passion for helping the Latine community and problem-solving skills have contributed tremendously to the Behavioral Health division and CLUES overall.
