We are very excited to invite you to the Barriletes Kite Festival at the Midtown Global Market!
The festival will take place on October 14 from 12 pm to 3 pm.
In this festival, the artists Cadex Herrera and Zamara Cuyún will help you make your own barrilete kite! The kites are traditionally native to Guatemala. Kites in Guatemala are pieces of art that rise to the skies during October due to the season of strong winds and other celebrations.
The kites you create can be used outside to make them fly! All this while listening to live music. In addition, the attendees will be able to engage in conversation about the Latino community vision on Lake Street.
The event is free and family-friendly!
