Celebrate Día de Los Muertos—the Day of the Dead at Midtown Global Market.
Day of the Dead (el Día de Los Muertos), is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink, and celebration. A blend of Mesoamerican ritual, European religion, and Spanish culture.
• One of the centerpieces of this event will be an authentic Ofrenda (altar) created from objects that remind us of loved ones who have passed on.
• Local artists, Aaron Ortiz & Gustavo Boada will host a craft station to teach kids how to create one of the most recognized symbols of the holiday, sugar skulls.
CLUES, Minnesota’s largest Latino-led nonprofit organization, has recruited local artists to conduct craft workshops including:

• Cadex Herrera and Zamara Cuyun will be leading a barriletes workshop (traditional Guatemalan kites for Día de todos Santos – All Saints Day)
• Special appearances from members of Teatro del Pueblo
• Gustavo Boada's Catrinas will be on display in the central court
• Traditional Día de Los Muertos food specials including hot chocolate and Pan de Muerto (Dead Bread) can be purchased in the Central Court, courtesy of Manny's Tortas.
