Covid-19 has disproportionately affected Minnesota’s Latino community. Since mid-March, CLUES has responded with a Spanish language hotline, resource navigation, and referrals, and by distributing emergency financial assistance through the Latino Family Emergency Relief Fund.

Our new Saving Circles Fund is another critical strategy that builds on the core strengths and values of our community by providing training and seed capital to Latinos who want to develop their own entrepreneurial ideas to support themselves and their families.

For Rosa, an Ecuadorian immigrant who has started a cleaning business with her friend Licenia, the Saving Circles Fund means they can upgrade their equipment and launch their marketing plan for Equator Cleaning. For others, the Saving Circles Fund can generate enough seed capital to buy tools or register their business name and pay the licensing fee to get their own company started.

These entrepreneurs need our support to fulfill their goals of becoming financially self-sufficient. All Saving Circles Fund participants will receive training from CLUES Economic Empowerment staff to develop their business, financial, and marketing plans.
