Join us for the new interactive art exhibition Salud, Paz & Comunidad by artist Candida Gonzalez.

The art exhibit will be open to the public from December 9th to February 15th

CLUES Arts and Cultural Engagement is thrilled to announce the opening of its latest interactive exhibit, "Salud/Paz/Comunidad," by renowned artist Candida Gonzalez. This immersive exhibition will be open to the public from December 9 to February 14 at CLUES in St. Paul.

"Salud, Paz & Comunidad" exhibit aims to transform the gallery into a space for connecting, healing, recharging, and setting intentions as we transition from 2024 to 2025, underscoring the importance of community building and intentional self-care; it aims to foster a space for community members to focus on their needs while building community within CLUES and with other community-serving organizations.

Artist Candida Gonzalez will create two interactive installations, inviting visitors to sit, share, and connect. The installation "Nuestros Bonitos Recuerdos" will showcase cherished memories from 2024. Visitors will be encouraged to reflect on the joyful parts of the year and write private gratitude messages to add to the installation. The installation "Bendiciones" will encourage participants to set intentions and blessings for 2025.

About the artist: Candida Gonzalez

A queer, trans, non-binary mixed Puerto Rican from South Minneapolis, Cándida González (they/them) is a multimedia artist most often working in temporary altar installations using found objects, words, and elements of the natural world. Their projects explore how the manipulation of basic elements into different configurations produce distinct energies/spells. They studied Latin American Art and History at The Evergreen State College and went on to get their M.Ed. at UMN in 2003. They approach their work by centering at the intersection of art, activism, healing, and personal/community empowerment. They are deeply invested in the concept of using art and community design as tools to wage love and healing. They also work nationwide as a public art consultant, curriculum developer, and workshop facilitator, as well as create talismanic jewelry under the name Las Ranas Jewelry.
