At CLUES, our mission has always been rooted in community, in listening, advocating, and creating spaces where every voice matters. That commitment was on full display when we were proud to host and participate in The People's Hearing on Immigration Enforcement in Minnesota.

A Powerful Collaboration for Change

Organized by the Hispanic Federation, Miranda's Family, Latino Victory, and national civil rights leaders, this public hearing carried forward a long and powerful tradition of community fact-finding. Advocates, legal experts, and families directly impacted by immigration enforcement came together to testify, sharing firsthand accounts of how federal immigration policies affect civil rights, constitutional protections, and community safety here in Minnesota and across the nation.

We were honored to welcome the Honorable Rochelle Garza, Chair of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, whose presence underscored the national significance of this conversation.

Elevating Community Voices

CLUES President and CEO Liliana Letrán-García opened the proceedings alongside Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. In her remarks, Liliana emphasized the urgent need to document real experiences and to ensure that immigrant families are seen, heard, and represented.
