Strengthening our community by driving systemic change

CLUES is committed to addressing the systematic barriers that Latinos and immigrants face to health and prosperity.
We recognize that policymaking that doesn’t include community perspectives drives inequities, deeply affecting our community. Our approach to policy and advocacy:
Lifts the voices of community to challenge broken systems that do not meet our needs
Engages community around relevant and timely public policy issues
Includes leadership and advocacy skills development in our action cohorts and advisory group
Developing and advancing community-led solutions is at the heart of our work. Some of our current projects include:
Census 2020 engagement
Community conversations, open house workshops and a media campaign to raise awareness and address concerns that pose barriers to participation. This project is made possible in partnership with Ramsey County and the F.R. Bigelow Foundation.
Renters in Minneapolis and St. Paul learn how systemic decisions affect their individual experiences and how to generate necessary change through advocacy and engagement. This project is made possible through a partnership with the Kresge Foundation.
Family Systems Project
A five-year partnership with the Department of Human Services that will pilot 3-5 initiatives to support the entire family with children ages 0-5 to promote school readiness.
Participation in our action cohorts or advisory groups is opened on an as-needed basis related to specific projects. We will also include participation opportunities on this page when they are available.
