We at CLUES are devastated by the news of the tragic loss of 19 students and 2 teachers in Uvalde, Texas. We grieve with the families of Uvalde, a small, largely Latino town close to the Mexico border. We have personal connections at CLUES with Uvalde and the surrounding area. We are outraged that our country has not protected our children and others in our communities. Today and in the coming days, we should remember the people in Texas and across the country who are suffering as a result of this and other tragedies. We should be especially kind to each other and to ourselves, and we should support one another in processing what has happened.
