This week, April 18-24, is National Volunteer Week! Each day we’ll be sharing about the wonderful volunteers who make our work possible.
Today’s volunteer in the spotlight is Luisa Torres! In 2020 Luisa volunteered with CLUES for the first time as a mentor in our Youth in Action (YA!) program. “Luisa is awesome and truly goes above and beyond for her mentee, Paloma! Throughout COVID she has consistently worked to connect with her mentee in various ways, such as: reading the same books, translating guides, scheduling regular calls, and so much more,” said her supervisor Natalya Arevalo, Youth in Action (YA!) Program Coordinator.
Here’s what Luisa had to say about what CLUES means to her: “I see CLUES as the literal word in English that means "something that guides through an intricate procedure or maze of difficulties." CLUES is helping guide our Latino/Hispanic community to a higher state while considering all their needs.”
Thank you for all you do, Luisa! Stay tuned throughout the week for more volunteer spotlights.
