This week, April 18-24, is National Volunteer Week! Each day we’ll be sharing about the wonderful volunteers who make our work possible.
Today’s volunteer in the spotlight is Valentina Martinez! In 2020 Valentina volunteered with CLUES for the first time as a Food Access Volunteer at the Canasta Familiar program. “Valentina is always ready to jump into action! She works for Heart of the House Hospitality who is committed to serving the Latino community. Her dedication and commitment to the community led her to wanting to do more within the community. As our food security initiatives expanded, she spent her Mondays in St. Paul and Wednesdays in Minneapolis serving the community. Sharing her commitment to service with her peers, Valentina brought along a few of her coworkers to help out with the food distribution. Thank you for all of your support and service!” said her supervisor Janelle Calvo-Nieto, Food Access Coordinator.
Here’s what Valentina had to say about what CLUES means to her: “Clues is a place of support and safety for the Latino community and new immigrants. I feel very grateful to be able to be part of these amazing groups of people doing their best for our community.”
Thank you for all you do, Valentina! Stay tuned throughout the week for more volunteer spotlights.
