An Empowered Latino Community

Our programs focus on Latino individuals and families, yet our experience and capabilities enable us to serve people from all backgrounds, including newcomers and low-income families striving for a better future.
For more than four decades, CLUES has grown alongside Minnesota’s Latino community, expanding our programs, geographic reach, and impact while remaining rooted in culturally and linguistically responsive services.
CLUES was founded as Chicanos Latinos Unidos en Servicio to provide culturally and linguistically relevant social services on the West Side of Saint Paul.
Since then, our programs and services have grown to encompass a holistic approach to addressing the complex and interconnected barriers facing our community, with programming that advances community wellness, prosperity, leadership, and belonging.
CLUES opened its first Minneapolis office, expanding its presence beyond Saint Paul and increasing access to services for Latino communities in Minneapolis.
CLUES moved its Minneapolis operations to Lake Street and launched a capital campaign to build its headquarters on the East Side of Saint Paul.
CLUES changed its name to Comunidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio, reflecting the growing diversity of the Latino communities we serve and the continued expansion of our programs and services.
CLUES expanded its reach into Greater Minnesota, increasing access to culturally and linguistically responsive services for Latino individuals and families beyond the Twin Cities. Through offices in Willmar and Austin, community partnerships, and programming throughout the region, CLUES has continued to strengthen its presence and respond to the needs of growing Latino communities across Minnesota.
CLUES completed a major expansion of its Saint Paul headquarters, creating additional space for programs, arts and culture, youth and elder services, and community gatherings.
CLUES opened its Family Wellness & Childcare Business Incubator Hub at 461 Maria Avenue in Saint Paul, expanding its commitment to family wellness, access to healthy food, early childhood development, and economic opportunity. The innovative facility brings together family wellness services, culturally grounded access to healthy food, and a childcare business incubator supporting Latina entrepreneurs.
CLUES celebrates its 45th anniversary, marking 45 years of service, growth, resilience, and community impact. What began as a small organization created by and for Latinos on Saint Paul’s West Side has grown into Minnesota’s largest Latino-led nonprofit, serving communities across the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota.
Today, CLUES is a growing, statewide organization with a strong presence across the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota. Our staff, volunteers, partners, and community members work together to advance equity, wellbeing, and opportunity for Latino individuals and families across Minnesota.
